ACTIVITIES
College Tour: Have your class look towards the future and the higher education opportunities available at University of California-Santa Cruz. The walking tour of this beautiful campus provides a great chance for students to get a feel for university life and ask any questions they have about college and admission requirements.
Backpacking/ Hiking: Our experienced guides will bring your group to the mountains for a three night backpacking trip in Castle Rock State Park. Lifeschool will lead the group through winding forests to visit waterfalls and look out for the famous banana slugs that call this area home. Your group will learn everything they need to know about backpacking and wilderness travel including Leave No Trace ethics and risk management.
Marine Lab Science: Visit a working marine laboratory at Seymour Science Cener, with a view of the beautiful Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Our guided tour will lead us through the exhibit halls, aquarium and marine mammal overlook.
Or you can travel to the Monterey Bay Aquarium for the day to learn about marine life and science. Get a hands-on time doing a behind-the-scenes science lab.
Sea Kayaking & Surfing: For another change of pace, Lifeschool can provide a day of kayaking in the Monterey Bay Sanctuary where students will get a close up look at sea lions, harbor seals, otters, and many other creatures that live in and around the Santa Cruz area. Depending on the season, there is also the chance of seeing migrating Grey Whales. The kayaks are very safe and sturdy, and fun for every skill level. Another great option!
Give Back: Spend a day giving back to the community. We have been working with local food banks in the area for many years. Students will spend the day helping to prepare food, serving food, sorting items and much more.
Santa Cruz Boardwalk: This historic boardwalk right on a long stretch of sandy beach is a great way to cap off this Santa Cruz adventure. Thrill yourself with riding some of the boardwalk's roller coasters, shop for souvenirs, or simply hang out at the beach for a game of volleyball or Frisbee.
