Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update: March 30, 2021
Dear Friends,
Go Adventure suspended all scheduled programs in 2020, and all but a few in 2021 due to COVID-19. With great hope and optimism due to vaccines, there is still uncertainty and the health and well-being of our students, employees, teachers, partners and volunteers continues to be our top priority. This is a fluid situation and we will continue to monitor the situation and take proactive steps in support of the national "social distancing" effort to slow the spread of this virus and to reduce the risk of significant impacts to our students, our staff and our communities.

Risk Management:
Go Adventure makes decisions about whether we can maintain the integrity and effectiveness of our program while effectively managing the risks. Working with our peers, industry professionals and the CDC we must answer the following questions before proceeding: Can we provide an inclusive and non-discriminatory experience to all students and staff? Can we make sure each participant is illness free? Can we mitigate exposure levels to students and staff traveling on airplanes, busses and in close proximity in vans? Will the parks or campgrounds be open when we arrive? Can we facilitate activities, camp in tents and prepare food while maintaining appropriate hygiene and social distancing? Do we feel comfortable proceeding with programs given the level of risk associated with COVID-19 at the time of departure? These are just some of our considerations.

Information for Clients, Schools, Parents:
We are excited to cautiously proceed with very selected programs that begin after June 25, 2021 and are accepting applications for the 2022 season (potentially as early as fall 2021) - but that decision has not yet been made. Together, we will get through this and get back outdoors soon! Contact the office at 707-876-3071 to discuss your program.

Information for Staff:
Following CDC guidance, we are encouraging social distancing. We are scaling down or eliminating in-person meetings and non-essential travel in favor of online or teleconference meetings, when possible. We are asking employees showing flu-like symptoms to work from home.
On a personal note, I founded this program over 21 years ago with an intention of empowering teens with much needed life skills. Among those skills is the ability to face challenges, adapt to adversity, work together and do right by our communities. Now are the extraordinary times we collectively need to remain calm yet intentional to see this crisis through. In the coming weeks and months, we will face this challenge together. We thank you for your patience and support during this unprecedented time.
