Emigrant Wilderness
Emigrant Wilderness area is a 25 by 15 mile expanse of Sierra landscapes on the western flank of this mountain range. The region includes volcanic peaks, granite domes, barren basins, and over 100 lakes! Elevations range from 5,000 to 11,570 feet. Spend the days exploring all this incrediable wilderness has to offer. Spend the days backpacking, the afternoons swimming, and the evenings around the campfire.
ACTIVITES
Backpacking - Emigrant is a great place for groups to enjoy a backpacking experience. With so many lakes, there are endless opportunities to take a dip in the refreshing waters of the Sierra Nevada. Ample meadows dot the valleys, giving us prime territory for playing games and chilling out. Surrounded by peaks and granite domes, there are plenty of day hiking options for the adventurous and energetic.
You can also hike up to snow fields for glissading and snowball fights! At the several sweet campsites you can visit, there are opportunities for campfires, stories, and smores. Emigrant is a great choice for a backpacking adventure ranging from 3 to 6 days.
